Succinic anhydride application
Succinic anhydride is mainly used in the synthesis of medicines, pesticides, esters and resins, and also in the synthesis and analytical reagents of succinic acid. In the pharmaceutical industry, succinic anhydride is an important pharmaceutical intermediate. It can be used as a raw material to produce analgesics, diuretics, and expectorants. The main drugs are erythromycin ethylsuccinate, oxaprozin and Chuanhuning. In pesticides, N-dimethylamino succinamide prepared by the reaction of succinic anhydride and dimethyl hydrazine in acetonitrile is a low toxicity and high efficiency plant growth inhibitor. It can control the plant's steep length, regulate nutrients, increase drought resistance, disease resistance and frost resistance. It also has good effects on regulating fruit quality, increasing yield and prolonging storage period. It can be widely used in economic crops such as peanuts, cotton, fruit trees and vegetables. In the petrochemical industry, succinic anhydride and its derivatives can be used as catalysts for olefin polymerization, crosslinkers for ester polymer condensates, and oilfield auxiliaries.
In addition, succinic anhydride can be used in the manufacture of alkyd resins, ion exchange resins; anthraquinone dyes formed by the reaction of succinic anhydride with aminoguanidine, can be used for the coloration of nylon or acetate fibers; succinic anhydride and gelatin can be reacted to improve halogenation.
